Cobalt-chromium alloys in fixed prosthodontics: Investigations of mechanical properties and microstructure -

The results from the present study demonstrated higher mechanical properties for the laser-melted and presintered milled Co-Cr, followed by the cast and milled Co-Cr specimens. In general, the Ti6Al4V demonstrated higher mechanical properties compared with CpTi4. The high mechanical properties of the laser melted Co-Cr specimens compared with the other Co-Cr specimens were consistent with those of other studies.

Commonly used alloys tested -

Cobalt-chromium (Co-Cr) alloys are becoming more and more popular with the rise of milling technology. This makes it more important than ever to make sure that dental restorations based on these materials are safe for patients
