Hopefully you have all enjoyed the summer and are well prepared for the coming season.

The use of laboratory studies to foresee the clinical outcome of dental materials is a challenge. In this issue of the NIOM Newsletter, we present work where studies of clinically fractured all-ceramic crowns have been the base for developing a clinically relevant laboratory test method. Results from testing of ceramic material using this method therefore have high relevance for the dental practitioner in selecting material for the patient. Read the article here.

NIOM has established a programme for the quality evaluation of dental products, the NIOM TESTED programme. The NIOM TESTED quality seal confirms that the product meets the requirements specified by NIOM. On 4 September, NIOM invites you to a free seminar about the NIOM TESTED programme at Arlanda airport in Stockholm. The seminar is intended for manufacturers and dealers of dental products. Other interested parties are also free to attend. Here is the invitation.

I do hope you find this issue of the NIOM Newsletter of interest.
