NIOM has recently welcomed two new guest researchers. Mervi Puska from Finland and Foteini Machla from Greece.
Dr. Mervi Puska, a polymer chemist, is an adjunct professor at the Department of Biomaterials Science, University of Turku, Finland. She has developed experimental composites that contain bioactive components and will stay at NIOM until the year ends to test the mechanical properties in further development of these components.
Foteini Machla is visiting via the Erasmus plus programme, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She is a budding dentist that will assist NIOM Scientists Aida Mulic and HÃ¥kon Valen Rukke for three months in examining the abrasive effects of charcoal toothpaste and later commercial tooth bleaching products.
