What do we know about charcoal toothpaste?

Ingredients, bleaching effects and wear.

Charcoal-containing dentifrices are gaining popularity, but scientific information on their effect on oral health is scarce. This course covers the properties of charcoal dentifrices available on the Norwegian marked. Such properties may affect dentine abrasivity, as well as dentifrices’ ability to adsorb fluoride. The presence of potentially harmful substances will also be discussed.
