Monomers and filler content of resin-based crown and bridge materials -

Different analytical methods have been used to investigate the chemical composition of crown and bridge veneering materials. High-performance liquid chromatography with diode array detection system was used for identification and quantification of the monomers in the resin systems

Surface characteristics of posterior composites after polishing and toothbrushing -

The surface characteristics of eight posterior and two anterior composite resins were studied by SEM and profilometric tracings.

Etching patterns of Co-Cr alloys for bonded cast restorations -

Resin-bonded bridges may replace missing teeth and act as splints in periodontal treatment. The objective of this study was to investigate the etch pattern after electrolytic etching of selected Co-Cr alloys in hydrochloric acid and to assess the changes in alloy composition after different etching times.

Carbon/graphite fiber reinforced poly(methyl methacrylate): properties under dry and wet conditions. -

The flexural properties of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) reinforced with carbon/graphite (C/G) fibers with three different surface treatments were investigated by transverse bend testing after dry and wet storage.

Adhesion of resins to Ag-Pd alloys by means of the silicoating technique. -

The purpose of the investigation was to study the effect of water storage on the bond strengths between silanized, silicoated Ag-Pd alloys and veneered composites, in comparison with the bond strengths of systems with conventional retention beads.

A new dental Pd−Co alloy for ceramic veneering -

The properties of an alloy with 65% Pd, 30% Co and 5% Ga have been investigated with consideration to the requirements of a ceramic fusing alloy. The composition of the alloy was at the outset chosen because of a reasonably low melting point of 1200°C. The mechanical properties were found to be satisfactory (σ0.2≈ 530 MPa, total elongation ≈5%).

Composites for use in posterior teeth: composition and conversion -

This investigation demonstrated that the conversion can be correlated with the composition of monomers and oligomers used in the materials.

Polymers for healing caps on titanium implants -

Healing caps are used during the healing period after abutment connection on titanium implants of the Branemark type. These healing caps consist of a screw embedded in polyamide-6 (PA-6) which is considerably weakened during this healing period. The properties of PA-6 and poly(4-methyl-1-pentene) (PMP) were studied
