2017 is the year NIOM turns 45 years, and we will celebrate officially May 8th and 9th.

Coincidentally, The Norwegian Society of Pharmacology and Toxicology (NSFT) will hold its 45th annual winter meeting in the Norwegian mountains of Beitostølen January 26th – 29th.

The meeting is an interdisciplinary meeting where six NIOM scientists and engineers will participate and contribute with presentations of research. NIOM managing Director Jon E. Dahl, as well as researchers and engineers Solveig Uvsløkk, Bergitte P. Olderbø, Kirsten E. Rakkestad, Alexandra I. S. Treimo and Jan T. Samuelsen will hold presentations on topics such as safety of dental amalgam, mechanistic toxicology caused by methacrylate exposure and biological effects of nanoparticles used in dental materials.

Other topics the meeting will cover are a wide array of interdisciplinary research topics such as effects of drugs and environmental toxicants on CNS, mercury poisoning and obesity causes and its pharmacological consequences.
