Lumichrome, a photodegradation product of riboflavin, has the potential to kill bacteria when combined with irradiation (photoinactivation). The degree of phototoxic effect was influenced by the lumichrome formulations. These results are presented in a recent publication by Ph.D candidate Victoria J Valerón Bergh, jointly supervised by School of Pharmacy, University of Oslo and NIOM.
